SHIFTING MY MIND
"Shifting My Mind" from the To Mind, To Mind (2024) LP, represents the evolution of my appreciation for game music. Following Join Me on Route 111 and A Long Road, these compositions were originally inspired by the iconic music of Pokémon Sapphire and Ruby, written by composers Junichi Masuda, Go Ichinose, and Morikazu Aoki. However, as with many tracks on TMTM, this influence has since expanded, incorporating elements of ambient jungle and liquid drum & bass, reminiscent of the music found in 1990s PS1 games.
BEAUTY & DIFFUSION
This is the second movement of my four-part acousmatic composition ƩTOIXΊA (translated as ELEMENTS in Greek), which I composed in 2016 and released in 2023. "Beauty & Diffusion" is the most sonically delicate of the four movements, with each piece collectively (sonically) embodying the classical elements from Greek mythology: water, air, earth, fire, and aether. ƩTOIXΊA reflects my exploration of organically recorded and synthetic sound sources, transforming them to evoke something beyond their original form.
